Individual Giving Officer

Salary:  £28,000 to £32,000 per annum

Job Purpose 

To be responsible for the operational delivery of the Individual Giving & Legacy. Fundraising Strategy, providing support for staff across the Individual Giving & Legacy Fundraising department. The Individual Giving Officer will work closely with the Individual Giving Managers, Legacy Manager and Supporter Services Manager to deliver increased income from new and existing individual donors and provide an excellent supporter experience which minimizes attrition. 

 

Main Duties

Development & Income Growth:

  • With the Individual Giving Managers, manage the operational delivery of a detailed plan of action which achieves annual/multi-year Individual Giving income and KPI targets.

  • With the Individual Giving Managers, Legacy Manager and Supporter Services Manager, contribute to the development of key building blocks, processes, systems and protocols for the new Individual Giving & Legacy Fundraising function to deliver effective and sustainable growth and excellent supporter experience. 

  • To support the delivery of an effective programme of Individual Giving campaigns, ensuring that all activities (channels, products, audiences, propositions etc.) are replicable and scalable. 

  • With the Individual Giving Managers, to future-proof Independent Age’s Individual Giving programme by managing a network of external contacts, undertaking regular competitor analysis and sector research and investigating ways to improve effectiveness as directed by the Senior Individual Giving Manager.  

  • To support the management of partnerships with best-in-business suppliers, ensuring cost-effective service, clear compliance and commitment to our values/goals. 

Integrated Engagement & Relationship Fundraising: 

  • To support the delivery of a large-scale programme to effectively recruit, retain, develop and reactivate financial supporters. 

  • To contribute to the project management of large-scale integrated multi-channel public campaigns which drive action and/or behaviour change.

  • To support to the development of an integrated Supporter Relationship Management Strategy, informed by insight, which tests and builds relevant supporter journeys to drive sustainable growth in the number of supporters, service users and volunteers.

  • To facilitate the development of Independent Age’s organisation-wide Data Management Strategy, ensuring that we are ‘data smart’ - optimising our data and data capture opportunities to deliver insights which help drive our growth. 

  • To develop and maintain sound knowledge of Independent Age’s work, in order to contribute to supplier briefs, manage supplier relationships and present current and prospective donors with an appropriate and compelling case for support.  

Other Duties

  • With the Individual Giving Managers, to ensure that all Individual Giving activities adhere to charity law, compliance and fundraising best practice, including in the area of data protection, marketing consent and vulnerability. 

  • To support the delivery of Independent Age’s organisational approach to marketing consent.

  • To represent the charity internally and externally, as directed by the Senior Individual Giving Manager. 

  • To observe and comply with all Independent Age Policies, including the key policies and procedures on Confidentiality, Data Protection, Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Information Technology Policies and Procedures. 

  • To undertake other reasonable duties as directed by the Senior Individual Giving Manager as the department’s and division’s work develops and new needs emerge. 

  • This role may require additional travel and overnight stays.
